Cheguei ao postcrossing por um simples motivo: a minha paixão por postais. Possuo uma pequena colecção, tanto de postais gratuitos, como de postais de locais por onde já passei. Tenho um pouco de tudo, desde paisagens a anúncios vintage, de Madrid a Hong Kong, via Paris e Frankfurt, com um saltinho a Londres e ao Egipto.
Gosto muito de viajar. E recentemente, estive no Reino Unido, em Cantuária, Londres e Edimburgo. Como grande apreciadora de postais que sou, não pude evitar trazer alguns comigo.
Comprei uns quantos na Torre de Londres, onde é possível encontrar, além de postais dos monumentos londrinos mais famosos, tais como o Big Ben, alguns com fotografias de membros da Família Real inglesa.

Ainda assim, o meu postal favorito comprado em Londres, é este, de um quadro de Stephen B. Whatley, que representa um dos mais famosos reis ingleses, Henrique VIII.
Já em Edimburgo, além de belas visões do castelo, que parece nascer da rocha onde foi erigido, a maior parte dos postais mostrava o tradicional tocador de gaita-de-foles, no traje tradicional escocês, com o seu tartan (tecido axadrezado que representa uma família), ou as famosas “cu” (cow, no dialecto local).
Apesar desses postais serem bastante bonitos, a minha escolha recaiu sobre o bem-humorado postal sobre as Scottish Seasons. É certamente um dos meus preferidos!

My favourite postcard, bought in London is this one, a painting from Henry VIII, probably the most famous English king.
In Scotland I saw many postcards showing the Edinburgh castle an amazing building that seems to have grown from the rock. Other postcards showed pictures of Scottish bagpipe players wearing tartan, or from the famous Scottish hairy cows.
The best postcard I’ve bought in Scotland is this one showing the Scottish seasons seen from a cow’s perspective. Enjoy it!
